The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced another facility for citizens of the federal capital, allowing them to transfer ownership digitally.

If a citizen wants to transfer ownership of his Islamabad-registered vehicle to another individual, the process can be done digitally by sitting at home. To complete the process, the citizens need to install NADRA’s Pak ID mobile app for biometric verification.

  • On the home screen, open Apply Digital Card and click ICT Vehicle to identify vehicles registered on your name. Then select the vehicle you want to transfer and click Transfer Now, and finish the facial verifiction for the applicant.
  • You can use the front and back cameras to capture your clear picture. Tip: Use the phone’s front camera for good pictures.
  • After facial verification, the next step is fingerprint verification. You have to complete fingerprint verification as instructed on the app.
  • After completing verifications, you will be able to see Application Details on the app screen.
  • In the next step, the buyer’s ID card number will be added to avoid any fraud.
  • After submitting all details, click the submit button. Then the app will automatically share the ID and Pin Code, which is necessary to share with the buyer.
  • Once the buyer receives that ID and Pin Code, they will be able to login Pak ID mobile app on their phones.
  • The buyer will also complete facial and fingerprint verification.
  • After completing verification, the option of Pay Now will appear to complete the payment.
  • Payments can be made via EasyPaisa, Raast, E-Sahulat, JazzCash, or debit/credit card.
  • After making the payment, citizens can download the biometric receipt from ID Vault under Vehicle Transfer in the My Documents section.
  • Finally, the buyer must submit the biometric receipt along with the required documents to the Excise and Taxation Office in Islamabad to complete the ownership transfer.
