Hajj payment collection system changed; payments to be made through a single bank. Pilgrims will not need to visit bank branches to deposit funds.
A major change has been decided in the payment collection procedure for Hajj 2027 expenses: under the official Hajj scheme, payments will now be collected through a single bank instead of 14 banks.
According to sources, Habib Bank has been selected to receive payments for both the government and private Hajj 2027 expenses. Pilgrims will not need to visit bank branches to deposit their payments; they will be able to pay online from home. Branch-based payment facilities will also be available, but exclusively through Habib Bank.
Multiple banks had expressed interest in handling the government Hajj 2027 collections; one bank was chosen based on network coverage and the quality of facilities.
A formal agreement between the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Habib Bank will be signed soon, after which all financial matters of the government Hajj scheme will be entrusted to that bank.
Sources say applications for the government Hajj scheme are likely to start being received from mid‑August, and the formal application schedule will be issued shortly.
Under the 2027 quota, a total of 179,210 Pakistanis will perform Hajj. Sixty percent of the quota is allocated to the government scheme and 40 percent to the private scheme. Under the government scheme, 107,832 pilgrims will perform Hajj, while 71,888 pilgrims will go under the private scheme.
