Peshawar: Recruitment of all kinds has been banned in specified districts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department following the emergence of mega corruption scandals in health department during the previous PTI led govt in the province.
According to the notification, in light of directives from higher authorities, no new recruitment of any kind shall be initiated, continued or completed in Health Department offices and medical facilities in the specified districts. All stages of recruitment already underway have also been ordered to be suspended immediately.
The Health Department has made it clear that all recruitment-related activities, including published advertisements, interviews, tests and the preparation of merit lists, must be halted. Until further orders, no candidate may be issued an appointment letter, appointed to a position or allowed to join service.
The notification directs the relevant officials to ensure immediate implementation of the orders. In the event of any violation, responsibility will rest with the concerned officer or official, who may face disciplinary action. The Health Department has classified the matter as extremely urgent.
The directives have been issued to all District Health Officers and medical superintendents of DHQ and THQ hospitals in the specified districts. Copies of the notification have also been sent to the Secretary for Education and Social Sector, the Area Development Secretariat and the Director General of Health Services, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The decision comes amid major corruption scandals that emerged in recruitment during the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The suspension aims to address concerns over irregularities in hiring and ensure transparency, fairness and merit in future recruitment processes.
