ISLAMABAD: A District and Sessions Court issued arrest warrant for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur in the liquor and arms recovery case.
Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan Chishti passed the order after neither Gandapur nor his legal team appeared for the scheduled hearing. The court categorically instructed authorities to arrest him and ensure his appearance at the next date.
Shortly after the order, Gandapur’s lawyer, Raja Zahoor-ul-Hassan, reached the courtroom. He requested the suspension of the arrest warrant against Ali Amin Gandapur, arguing that extensive media coverage of the case had already created serious consequences for his client.
The magistrate, however, dismissed the request. He ruled that the order would not be withdrawn unless Gandapur personally appeared before the court.
The case traces back to an FIR registered at Bhara Kahu police station in Islamabad. The liquor and arms recovery case has remained pending for several months. Earlier, on July 19, the District and Sessions Court had also issued an Ali Amin Gandapur arrest warrant, showing the court’s repeated insistence on his presence.
