Divisions in PTI KP assembly

Reconciliation could not be achieved with the dissident government members in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. The dissident members refused any kind of negotiations and called a meeting today to decide their future course of action.

According to a private news channel, the group of disgruntled government members in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly remained firm on its demands. Former Speaker Asad Qaiser and former provincial minister Shaukat Yousafzai also contacted the dissident members, but they refused to negotiate with anyone from the government.

The dissident members said that they need an assurance from Chief Minister Sohail Afridi. One dissident member said that they have not formed any forward bloc, and if a forward bloc is formed, it would be against Imran Khan.

He said they are unhappy with the government’s policies. The central leadership has been informed, and a letter has also been sent to them, but no response has been received from the party chairman. The dissident members have called another meeting today to determine their future course of action.

Internal rifts in PTI parliamentary party:

Differences have emerged in the parliamentary party of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, while Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has also called a meeting of the parliamentary party.

According to sources, after the expansion of the cabinet by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi, reports of dissatisfaction among members of the ruling party surfaced, which have become a cause of concern for him ahead of the budget. However, he has now called a meeting of the parliamentary party.

Following reports of contacts among members, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi had called the parliamentary party meeting, and all members had been instructed to ensure their participation.

Sources further stated that the Chief Minister and ministers had also contacted dissatisfied members and invited them to attend the meeting.

It was also reported that before the parliamentary party meeting, dissatisfied members had called a consultation meeting among themselves. The emergence of a group of unhappy members ahead of the budget has become a challenge for the Chief Minister, and the independent status of PTI members in the assembly may become an issue for the dissatisfied group.

Sources further said that a message has also been conveyed to the dissatisfied members that if they try to create difficulties for the government, obtaining party tickets in the next election will become difficult. A government minister claimed that all members will express confidence in the Chief Minister during the parliamentary party meeting.
