ITP launches on-spot learner permit service at checkpoints

ISLAMABAD: On the directives of Inspector General of Islamabad Police, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has introduced another citizen-friendly initiative to facilitate the public.

According to Chief Traffic Officer Captain (R) Hamza Humayun, citizens can now obtain learner driving permits directly from facilitation vans stationed at police checkpoints. The special vans have been deployed at four key points across the city including Zero Point, Faizabad, G-14, and the Foreign Office checkpoint.

Hamza Humayun stated that individuals without a valid driving license can easily get a learner permit from these mobile units. Traffic police officers stationed at the checkpoints are checking driving licenses, and those found without a valid license or learner permit will be issued one on the spot.
