Zamyad pickup trucks to enter Pakistan market

KARACHI: A new Iranian brand Zamyad pickup truck has entered the Pakistani market.

The company showcased two commercial pickup models, the Zamyad EX and the Zamyad PADRA+, at an event in Karachi.

The Zamyad EX comes with a 2.4-liter petrol engine and a 5-speed manual transmission, delivering 94 horsepower and 187 Nm of torque. It measures 5010 mm in length, 1730 mm in width, and 1700 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3030 mm.

The cargo bed is spacious at 2300 x 1600 x 400 mm. It runs on a 2WD drivetrain and features 16-inch steel rims. The pickup includes basic safety features like ABS and EBD, along with LED side indicators and daytime running lights. Other amenities include manual air conditioning, power steering, an audio player with Bluetooth and USB support, electrically adjustable mirrors, an immobilizer, and a 4-way adjustable driver’s seat.

Zamyad has yet to announce its price and launch date in Pakistan.

Popular pickup trucks in Pakistan include the Toyota Hilux. It is the most expensive but also very popular. Its price starts from Rs 1.26 crore and goes up to Rs 1.6 crore.

The Isuzu D-Max is another popular choice, priced between Rs 1.08 crore and Rs 1.34 crore. The JAC T9 is cheaper, with prices from Rs 87.75 lakh to Rs 1.05 crore.

Other trucks like the KIA Shehzore K2700 start at Rs 42.59 lakh, while the BYD Shark 6 goes up to Rs 1.99 crore. These prices do not include taxes, transport, and other charges.
