In a welcome move ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, the Punjab government has announced early payment of salaries and pensions for government employees and pensioners.
According to an official notification, May salaries and pensions will be disbursed on May 21, with formal approval granted in view of the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha.
The Punjab Finance Department has issued the notification and directed all relevant departments to ensure immediate payments of govt employees’ salaries
Additionally, the State Bank and commercial banks have been instructed to ensure timely implementation of the decision so that employees and pensioners can benefit financially before Eid.
This move of the govt is aimed at lessening financial pressure on families, allowing them to make necessary preparations for the festive occasion, including purchasing sacrificial animals and other essentials.
Govt has also emphasized that strict compliance by the relevant authorities will be monitored, and any delays in salary or pension payments will be taken seriously to ensure that beneficiaries receive their funds without inconvenience.
The govt usually take such measures of early salaries payments, especially on the occasion of two eids during the year. With this the employees spend their eids with even more jubilation and satisfaction.
It is worth noting that the salaries of April were also paid three days earlier owing to three consecutive holidays. This move of the govt was also appreciated by the employees.
