Senior Pakistani film actress and director Sangeeta has revealed that she has been married for the third time for the past 14 years.
In a recent TV show, Sangeeta spoke about her current marriage and shared details about her previous relationships.
She said her first marriage was to Humayun Qureshi, while her second marriage was to Naveed Akbar. Both marriages eventually ended.
Sangeeta said she later married film industry distributor Tariq Meindro, with whom she has been living for the past 14 years.
The actress said she felt lonely after her daughters got married. During that period, Meindro proposed to her several times.
She said she realised that people need a companion as they grow older. This led her to decide to marry again.
Sangeeta also shared what she considers the secret behind her successful marriage.
“But the biggest red flag in a marriage is physical violence. That is why I divorced my first husband. If any part of the body becomes useless, it should be cut off. I have endured a lot. I even used to arrive at the studio with bruises and injury marks on my body.”
She said her current husband does not abuse her, raise his hand or argue without reason.
According to Sangeeta, whenever her husband gets angry, he quietly leaves the room instead of starting an argument.
The veteran actress has worked in Pakistan’s film industry for several decades as an actress and director.
