US Iran peace talks, eight women in Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that Iranian authorities halted the execution of eight women following his request.

According to reports, Donald Trump said that at his request, Iranian officials stopped the execution of eight women. He added that four of the women would be released immediately, while the remaining four would receive one-month prison sentences.

In a statement posted on Truth Social, he said:

It is worth noting that a day earlier, Trump had spoken out in favor of these women. In another post on Truth Social, he addressed the Iranian leadership, stating:

“To the Iranian leadership, which will soon enter negotiations with my representatives: I strongly request the release of these women. I believe you will respect that you have taken this step. Please ensure no harm comes to them! This would be a great start to our negotiations.”

He shared this statement along with a screenshot of a post on X, which claimed that Iran was preparing to execute eight women.

On the other hand, following Trump’s earlier statement, Iran’s judiciary denied that eight women were facing execution. According to the judiciary’s official website Al-Mizan, “Trump has once again been misled by fake news.”

The statement further said that some of the women mentioned had already been released, while others were facing charges that, even if upheld, would at most result in imprisonment rather than the death penalty.
