US has issued important advisory for Pakistanis applying for US visas, as the public can now submit
information about suspected US visa fraud through an online portal.
According to details, the US Department of State has launched a new online tip portal to identify visa fraud and misuse of the visa system.
The State Department said members of the public can provide information online about suspected visa fraud. It added that public complaints have already helped authorities identify thousands of visa fraud cases.
According to the department, thousands of individuals involved in visa fraud have been identified during President Donald Trump’s second term, while strict measures are continuing to prevent and detect such fraud.
US authorities said visa fraud may include fake documents, false travel plans, sham marriages and fraudulent job offers.
The State Department also said that travelling to the United States primarily for the purpose of giving birth may fall under visa fraud in certain circumstances.
According to the department, visa fraud can harm US communities, the economy and American workers, while also posing risks to national security and public safety.
The State Department has announced strict enforcement of laws against those involved in visa fraud, saying their visas may be revoked and cases may be referred to relevant authorities for further action.
The department has urged the public to report suspected visa fraud through the designated online portal.
