Dense Fog Shuts Multiple Motorways Across Punjab

Motorways closed

Dense fog again covered plain areas of Punjab, including Lahore, late Sunday night and early Monday, forcing authorities to close several motorway sections due to very low visibility.

The thick fog badly disrupted road traffic in many cities. A Motorway spokesperson said authorities closed the M-2 from Lahore to Kot Momin, M-3 from Lahore to Darkhana, M-4 from Pindi Bhattian to Abdul Hakim, M-5 from Multan to Zahir Pir, and M-11 from Lahore to Sialkot for all types of traffic.

Motorway Police said safe travel during fog hours remains between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm. They advised drivers to use the Grand Trunk (GT) Road as an alternative route.

The police also urged motorists to drive slowly, turn on fog lights, and avoid unnecessary travel. They asked people to stay at home as dense fog continued to affect traffic on several sections of the National Highway, where visibility dropped to between zero and 100 metres.
