MUMBAI: Indian television actress Sanchita Ogle has reportedly died in what authorities are calling a suspected suicide, triggering controversy and public debate.
Her brother, Akash Ogle, has raised serious questions over the circumstances of her death. He linked the incident to the death anniversary of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, suggesting emotional and psychological pressure within the entertainment industry. Akash Ogle spoke to the media in his first formal statement. He demanded a high-level and transparent investigation.
He urged police not to close the case as a routine suicide. He claimed Sanchita shared an Instagram reel a day before her death. The post referenced Sushant Singh Rajput’s death anniversary and included the line, “June 14 has arrived again.” He said both deaths occurred on June 14, six years apart.
He called it more than coincidence and demanded deeper scrutiny. Akash Ogle also claimed that his sister had written about following Sushant Singh Rajput’s path in her final social media activity. He said she had expressed distress over pressure in the entertainment industry. He rejected the idea of suicide.
He said his sister was not mentally weak. He alleged that she was forced into extreme psychological stress.
He called on government authorities and senior officials to conduct a fair and high-level investigation. He demanded clarity on who may have harassed or pressured her. Mumbai Police confirmed that the case is under active investigation. Officials said they are examining all angles. Police said Sanchita lived with her family in Mumbai. They added that she was alone at home at the time of the incident.
She was later found dead by family members. Authorities said it is too early to reach any conclusion. They confirmed that the investigation is ongoing. Sanchita Ogle gained popularity through Indian television dramas. She played roles in hit serials including Kumkum Bhagya and Wagle Ki Duniya. She also appeared in Dil Wali Dulhan Le Jayegi in a lead role.
