Lahore: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab carried out intelligence-based operations in view of terrorism threats and arrested 26 suspected terrorists.
According to a private TV channel report, CTD spokesperson stated that over the past month, 286 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) were conducted across various cities of Punjab due to security concerns. Operations were carried out in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Faisalabad, Jhang, Chakwal, Rajanpur, Narowal, Pakpattan, and Sargoda.
One suspected militant linked to Al-Qaeda was arrested from Lahore, while four dangerous militants associated with Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan were apprehended from Sargodha. They reportedly belong to tribal areas.
Authorities recovered explosive material, three IED bombs, 19 detonators, 34 feet of safety fuse wire, pamphlets, cash, and Prima cards from the suspects.
