Famous Indian television actress Dipika Kakar has announced her return to work, saying that shooting for a daily serial is not possible during her treatment. Discussing her health issues, she said she could shoot for a music video for one day, but working on a daily serial would be very difficult for her.
Speaking about her return through a music video, Dipika said, “Let’s see what happens. Looking at my condition right now, I don’t think I’ll be able to work every day. Obviously, why would anyone cast me in that case? It’s quite clear.”
The 41-year-old actress, who is battling cancer, said that considering her health condition, shooting for a daily serial would be difficult. She said there was nothing to think about because it was treatment and treatment came with side effects.
Talking about returning to dance rehearsals after a long break, Dipika revealed that she had to take a break every 10 minutes, which made her realise how weak her body had become.
She said the song has already been filmed and she feels both nervous and excited about her return.
According to recent reports, Dipika is currently working on a music video with her husband, Shoaib Ibrahim.
Dipika Kakar was diagnosed with Stage 2 liver cancer in 2025 and underwent surgery in June of the same year to remove a tumour from her liver. Since then, she has been documenting her recovery and treatment journey through her vlogs.
In February 2026, Dipika underwent another surgery after a cyst was detected in her liver. Later, doctors advised monitoring instead of another surgery after two new small cysts were discovered, following which Dipika began immunotherapy.
In a recent vlog, she revealed that her treatment causes nausea, vomiting and fatigue.
