Web Desk: Armed terrorists abducted two employees of a courier and logistics company in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province and later demanded a ransom of PKR 25 million for their release, according to security sources.
The victims were seized on July 24 in the Khad Kucha area while travelling in a company-owned Shahzore vehicle, which was also taken during the incident.
Security officials said the abductors contacted the owner of the courier and logistics company on Saturday and demanded PKR 25 million in exchange for the safe release of the two employees.
According to the sources, the callers threatened to kill the hostages if the ransom was not paid.
The abducted men were identified as Jan Muhammad and Sajjad Ali. Both have residential links to Quetta and Islamabad, according to information provided by investigators.
Officials said the attackers also took possession of the company’s Shahzore vehicle during the abduction.
Security agencies believe the victims and the vehicle remain in the custody of the terrorist group responsible for the kidnapping.
Authorities have launched efforts to trace the abductors and recover the hostages, although officials have not publicly disclosed operational details.
Security officials attributed the kidnapping to a group they identified as “Fitna al-Hindustan,” a term the Pakistani state uses for certain armed groups operating in Balochistan.
The incident underscores persistent security challenges in parts of Balochistan, where kidnappings, attacks on security forces and other acts of terrorism have continued despite ongoing counterterrorism operations.
