Private schools in Punjab

Web Desk: Private schools in Punjab have urged the provincial government to reduce the ongoing summer vacation period and allow educational institutions to reopen from August 3 instead of the scheduled date of August 24, saying an earlier resumption of classes would not harm students’ academic progress.

The demand was raised during a meeting of Private School Solutions of Pakistan, chaired by its president Malik Abdul Samad, where participants discussed challenges facing private educational institutions, government restrictions, and ways to ensure continuity of academic activities.

The organization called on the Punjab government to permit schools to restart teaching activities earlier, arguing that reopening classrooms would help institutions continue their syllabus and avoid further disruption to the academic calendar.

Meanwhile, Malik Abdul Samad also urged all unregistered private schools to complete their registration process immediately, saying only legally compliant institutions could continue providing educational services on a sustainable basis.

The Punjab government had earlier announced summer vacations for all public and private schools and colleges across the province from May 22 to August 23, with institutions scheduled to reopen on Monday, August 24, 2026.
