Especially Men Need to Examine Their Attitudes, Singer Ali Zafar
Pakistani actor and singer Ali Zafar, while supporting Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif, has condemned the body shaming she faced after giving birth.
In a video posted on Instagram, Ali Zafar questioned the mindset of comparing women’s past and present appearance, saying that society expects women to meet certain standards regarding their bodies, lives and physical appearance, which is not an appropriate way to view any human being.
Ali Zafar said that men, in particular, need to examine their attitudes, as unnecessary comments about women’s appearance are becoming increasingly common.
The actor admitted that he himself had criticized other people’s appearance in the past; however, he said he no longer considers such behavior appropriate.
Ali Zafar and Katrina Kaif played the lead roles in the 2011 romantic comedy film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.
Katrina Kaif was recently seen at public places with her husband Vicky Kaushal, following which various comments about her weight gain were made on social media.
Ali Zafar further emphasized that a woman’s appearance should not become a subject of public discussion or judgment, particularly after childbirth, when the body naturally goes through significant changes.
He said that people should show greater sensitivity and respect instead of making unnecessary remarks about women’s bodies and appearances.
