Crime rate surges in Peshawar during 2025

Peshawar: Due to poor law and order situation the year 2025 the data highlights growing concerns over public safety and law and order in the city and witnessed a sharp rise crime across Peshawar, the police records show alarming figures related robberies, killing theft and violent incidents in the provincial capital.

According to a police data during one at least 542 people were killed in various incidents during the year and 785 others sustained injuries.

In Peshawar the street crime is big challenge with 533 cases motorcycle theft and robbery reported and in addition, 139 vehicles were either stolen or snatched from different parts of the city. The official documents also revealed that a total of 1,009 incidents of robbery and theft occurred in Peshawar during 2025.

The report further said that increasing tension between criminals and law enforcement as 265 incidents of clashes and scuffles with police were recorded. Kidnapping is also a big concern that also showed an upward trend with 111 cases reported during the of 2025.

The most alarming aspects highlighted in the police report is the common misuse of firearms. According to report police registered 1508 cases of aerial firing that reflect bad enforcement of laws related celebratory gunfire and illegal weapons.

To control the crime ratio across the metropolitan, police conducted 221 encounters across the city. According to report 23 suspects were killed and 225 injured were arrested. During the year Additionally, police apprehended 23 most wanted criminals in separate raids.
