Actress Momina Iqbal has announced that she may release all alleged evidence related to her harassment case on social media after PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar gets a clean chit from the court.

In an Instagram story, Iqbal said she had been demanding from the outset that Chadhar be suspended so he could not allegedly use his position, resources or influence against her.

The actress alleged that the PML-N lawmaker had misused his authority and claimed that people were allegedly sent to her home.

Momina Iqbal also expressed reservations about the investigation. She claimed that authorities had not properly questioned Chadhar and his wife, Sameera, despite the allegations against them.

She said she would not back down from the matter and would release all the evidence in her possession on social media if necessary, allowing the public to judge the case for themselves.

The development comes after a Lahore sessions court recently disposed of interim pre-arrest bail applications filed by Chadhar and his wife after the investigation officer told the court that their arrest was not required at that stage.

During the hearing, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) informed the court that the investigation had been changed and that the suspects did not currently need to be arrested.

Following the statement, Chadhar and his wife withdrew their bail applications, which the court allowed.

The case was registered by the NCCIA under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA). Iqbal had accused Chadhar of allegedly harassing, blackmailing and threatening her with serious consequences.

According to her complaint, Chadhar allegedly made threatening calls to her and her fiancé. She also alleged that his behaviour became threatening after she rejected a marriage proposal.

She further claimed that she was later allegedly blackmailed and harassed through WhatsApp messages and video calls. She also alleged that threatening messages were sent to her sister’s mobile phone.

The allegations have not been proven in court. Chadhar and his wife have received relief in the case, while the investigation remains ongoing.
