Web Desk: Three security personnel were killed and another wounded after terrorists ambushed a Frontier Corps (FC) party and a squad accompanying the assistant commissioner of Harnai in Pishin district on Thursday, according to preliminary reports.
Security forces launched a counter-operation following the attack, during which 11 terrorists were reportedly killed, while an exchange of fire continued in the area.
The incident took place on the Pishin-Ziarat Road in the Kach Mor area.
According to initial information, a party from the 134 Wing, led by Major Salahuddin, left the FC headquarters at around 12:10 p.m. to establish a new security post at Kach Mor.
When the party reached an area about 3 to 4 km beyond Ziarat Cross in Pishin, terrorists allegedly set up an ambush and opened fire on the FC personnel as well as the squad accompanying the assistant commissioner of Harnai.
Security personnel responded immediately and launched a counter-attack against the terrorists.
An intense exchange of fire followed, with security forces continuing operations in the area. Preliminary reports said three personnel had been killed and another wounded in the attack.
At the same time, 11 terrorists were reportedly killed during the retaliatory action.
Security forces have continued efforts to secure the area, while fighting was still reported to be underway.
A military helicopter also reached the site to support the operation and provide assistance to security personnel.
Further details about the identities of those killed and wounded, as well as the circumstances of the attack, were awaited.
