Participants of the 8th Maritime Security Workshop (MARSEW) visited Naval Headquarters, where Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf met them and shared insights on changing maritime dynamics.
During the visit, the delegation was briefed on emerging maritime challenges and opportunities.
According to ISPR, the 11-day workshop highlights the importance of maritime security and the strategic value of the Indian Ocean region.
Admiral Ashraf outlined growing maritime threats to Pakistan and emphasized the potential of the country’s blue economy. He also highlighted the Pakistan Navy’s strong deterrence during the Marka-e-Haq (Battle of Haq) and its role in maintaining regional peace through the Combined Maritime Forces and the Regional Maritime Security Protocol.
The Naval Chief appreciated the Navy’s efforts in developing coastal communities. Members of Parliament, officers, media personnel, and experts praised MARSEW, calling it highly commendable.
