Retail cement prices in the country saw a decline over the past week. According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, in the week ending October 9, the average retail price of cement per bag in the northern cities was recorded at Rs 1372, which is 0.64% lower than the previous week. The average price per bag of cement in the northern cities in the past week was Rs 1381. Similarly, the average retail price per bag of cement in southern cities was recorded at Rs 1441, which is 0.58% lower than last week's Rs 1449. According to the data, the average price of cement per bag in different cities last week was as follows:
Islamabad Rs 1345, Rawalpindi Rs 1346, Gujranwala Rs 1400, Sialkot Rs 1370, Lahore Rs 1408, Faisalabad Rs 1380, Sargodha Rs 1360, Multan Rs 1416, Bahawalpur Rs 1420, Peshawar Rs 1350 and Bannu Rs 1300 per bag. In the southern cities, the average price of cement per bag was recorded at Rs 1367 in Karachi, Rs 1427 in Hyderabad, Rs 1500 in Sukkur, Rs 1407 in Larkana, Rs 1500 in Quetta and Rs 1443 in Khuzdar.
