Web Desk: Bollywood actor Salman Khan has expressed support for students protesting against an examination paper leak in India, describing their movement as peaceful while condemning the violence that erupted during the demonstrations.
In a statement, Khan said the students’ campaign reflected their commitment to improving the country’s education system and deserved recognition for its peaceful approach.
Khan described the alleged paper leak as a serious issue that warranted attention, saying it was encouraging to see students unite in pursuit of a fair and transparent education system.
He also praised parents for standing alongside the protesters and supporting their demands for reforms.
“The students demonstrated determination, sincerity and a strong commitment to education,” Khan said, expressing confidence that the younger generation would bring pride to India through hard work and academic excellence.
While endorsing the students’ right to protest, Khan voiced concern over the violence associated with the demonstrations.
He extended his sympathies to students who were injured during the unrest and to their families, calling the incidents regrettable.
At the same time, he said the peaceful nature of the protest deserved appreciation, adding that the students had expressed their demands through democratic means.
Khan emphasised that the issue should remain focused on students and the education system rather than becoming a political debate.
He said the movement belonged to the students and that they alone should receive credit for highlighting the issue.
Furthermore, he expressed hope that the government would listen to the students’ concerns, support their demands and introduce meaningful reforms to strengthen the country’s education system.
Concluding his message, Khan said education should become the country’s most valued pursuit, encouraging greater investment in learning and academic excellence.
He added that India should aspire to become a global education hub capable of attracting students from around the world.
