Adviser to the Prime Minister, Rana Sanaullah, has issued a strong and unequivocal warning, stating that if the Afghan Taliban do not stop, “their existence will not remain.” He said Pakistan’s political and military leadership has unanimously decided that terrorism will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Speaking in a private TV program, he emphasized that the entire leadership is united in addressing the country’s security challenges. He assured the nation that all political parties stand with the armed forces. He noted that the Senate has already passed a unanimous resolution against Afghan incursions, and a similar unanimous resolution will also be passed in the National Assembly.
Rana Sanaullah rejected the impression that the Afghan regime holds legitimate governmental status, describing it as a group imposed by force of arms. He alleged that the regime is fully involved in the terrorism Pakistan is facing and said ground realities cannot be ignored. He reiterated that Pakistan will make no compromise on its security.
He further stated that strikes have been carried out against terrorist hideouts and acknowledged the possibility of retaliation. However, he stressed that the political and military leadership’s decision is firm: terrorism will not be tolerated.
He made it clear that there can be no negotiations or dialogue with terrorists until they meet their end, adding that military operations will continue and there will be no compromise on the country’s defense.
