Punjab announces winter holidays for schools and colleges

Lahore: Education Department in Punjab province has announced winter holidays for all public and private colleges, with institutions set to close from December 23 through January 10, according to an official notification.

The decision applies across the province and covers both government-run and privately managed colleges.

Colleges to reopen on Jan. 12

According to the notification, all colleges will resume academic activities on Monday, January 12.

After the break, classes will restart in full accordance with the regular weekly schedule, with no reduction in instructional hours.

Exams and BS programs unaffected

Meanwhile, the notification clarified that examinations conducted by boards and universities will continue as per their existing schedules.

In addition, BS four-year degree programs will proceed without interruption and holiday announcements will not affect their academic timelines.

The move aligns with seasonal academic planning in the province and aims to ensure clarity for students, faculty and administrators ahead of the winter break.
