Islamabad: Azaad Digital successfully thwarted a hacking attempt targeting its digital platforms, restoring full control of its accounts after an attempt of security breach by Indian Hacker.
The attempted attack attributed to Indian hackers, failed to compromise its Azaad Digital’s systems.
Accounts restored after attempted breach
In a statement, Azaad Digital said its technical team detected unusual activity and acted swiftly to secure its digital assets.
“Accounts are back and fully in our control,” the organisation said, adding that no long-term damage was reported.
As a result, access to all official platforms has been restored, and normal operations have resumed.
Intent behind the attempted breach
Azaad Digital, known for challenging Indian propaganda and false narratives against Pakistan, has repeatedly faced cyberattacks aimed at limiting its reach. The targeting stems from its role in debunking claims carried by sections of the Indian media. Azaad Digital said that Indian hackers, who operate with state backing, have attempted to breach its systems, but added that robust security measures have so far prevented any lasting damage.
Security response limits impact
The prompt response helped prevent unauthorised access and data loss. The organisation did not disclose further technical details but said its cybersecurity protocols functioned effectively.
Meanwhile, additional safeguards have been put in place to prevent future attempts, officials said.
Digital resilience
The incident underscores growing cybersecurity challenges faced by media and digital platforms in the region.
However, Azaad Digital said the failed hacking attempt demonstrated the strength of its security systems and preparedness against external threats.
The organisation said it would continue to monitor its platforms closely and remain vigilant against cyberattacks.
