Lahore: Pakistan won the toss and chose to field against Sri Lanka in the T20 Tri-Series final on Saturday, making a key change by bringing fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi into the side in place of Mohammad Wasim Jr.

Pakistan Aims for Strong Start

Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha said his team would focus on delivering a solid start, especially in the powerplay. He emphasized that Pakistan typically wins matches when it performs well in the opening overs.

He added that the squad would “try to begin positively” and maintain pressure throughout the innings.

Sri Lanka Confident of Competitive Total

Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka said his side planned to play “good cricket” in the final. Assessing the pitch, he estimated that a total of 160 to 170 runs would be competitive under the conditions.

He also praised the security arrangements in Pakistan, calling them “excellent” and expressing full confidence in the environment provided to visiting teams.

High Stakes in Decisive Match

As both teams enter the final with momentum, Pakistan will look to capitalize on its bowling strength after choosing to field. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka appears prepared to set a challenging target in what promises to be a closely contested title clash.
