Web Desk: Apple is preparing to expand its iCloud+ service to Pakistan, giving local users access to expanded cloud storage and a range of additional privacy and entertainment features.
The service has appeared on Apple’s iCloud+ pricing page for Pakistan, although it is currently marked as “Coming Soon”. The company has not announced a confirmed launch date.
Under the pricing currently displayed for Pakistan, the entry-level iCloud+ subscription will cost Rs200 per month and provide 50GB of storage.
Users seeking additional capacity will have several options, with monthly plans listed at Rs800 for 200GB, Rs2,500 for 2TB, Rs8,900 for 6TB and Rs17,900 for 12TB.
Apple will continue to offer 5GB of iCloud storage at no cost to users who do not subscribe to a paid plan.
The proposed Pakistani iCloud+ offering goes beyond additional storage.
Subscribers will also receive access to Apple TV and Apple Arcade as part of their paid subscription. Apple TV provides access to the company’s original television shows and films, while Apple Arcade offers a catalogue of games without advertisements or additional in-app purchases.
As a result, users subscribing to the Rs200 monthly package would also gain access to both entertainment services.
Meanwhile, iCloud+ will provide several privacy and security features alongside the expanded storage.
These include Hide My Email, iCloud Private Relay and support for Custom Email Domains. Subscribers will also have access to Apple Invites and HomeKit Secure Video.
Another feature of the service is the ability to share a paid iCloud+ subscription with up to five other family members.
Shared benefits can include storage, Apple TV and Apple Arcade, while each family member will continue to maintain separate files, settings and personalised recommendations.
Although Apple has published pricing for Pakistan, the company has yet to specify when the service will become available.
The iCloud+ page continues to display the service as “Coming Soon”, and Apple notes that pricing and available features can differ depending on the country or region.
For Pakistani iPhone users, the planned launch would provide a broader range of paid iCloud storage options while bundling cloud, privacy and entertainment services into a single subscription.
