Govt introduces passport home delivery system

Director General Immigration and Passports, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, has announced that from July 1, passports will be delivered directly to citizens’ homes, ending the need to visit offices and stand in long queues.


According to details, the DG Immigration and Passports visited passport sections, where he personally met citizens and listened to their problems and complaints.


On the spot, he issued strict instructions to officials to immediately resolve public issues.


During the visit, a major decision was taken to improve public convenience by making passport services more efficient and faster.


He announced that passports will now be delivered to citizens at their doorstep.


He said that from July 1, this home delivery system will begin operating in a more transparent and effective manner, helping citizens avoid repeated office visits and long waiting lines.


Muhammad Ali Randhawa also directed the relevant courier companies to ensure timely and secure delivery of passports at all costs.


The DG added that providing modern, fast, and citizen-friendly passport services is the government’s top priority, and further reforms will continue to improve service delivery.

The move is widely lauded by citizens who frequented to immigration offices in connection of renewal or processing of their passports. They have expressed great optimism that the newly implemented system will provide them relief from the old fashioned and traditional ways of getting their passports.
