Web Desk: Gold prices in Pakistan moved higher on Wednesday, while silver also recorded a gain as precious metals followed an upward trend in international markets.
The price of gold increased by Rs800 per tola to Rs462,936, according to rates issued by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association.
The latest increase came after gold prices declined by Rs1,000 per tola in the previous session, when the metal traded at Rs462,136.
The price of 10 grams of gold also advanced, rising by Rs686 to Rs396,893.
Meanwhile, international gold prices increased by $8 per ounce to $4,404, supporting the rise in the domestic bullion market.
Silver prices followed gold’s upward move in Pakistan.
The price of silver rose by Rs72 per tola to Rs7,141, according to the latest market rates.
The increase came after silver had also moved lower during the previous trading session, highlighting continued volatility in the country’s precious metals market.
Gold and silver prices in Pakistan remain closely linked to movements in international bullion markets, while currency fluctuations and domestic market conditions can also influence local rates.
For consumers, investors and jewellers, the latest rise means both major precious metals are trading at higher levels than in the previous session.
The market will now remain focused on further movements in international bullion prices and currency markets for clues about the direction of domestic gold and silver rates.
