Web Desk: Pakistanis will enjoy an extended holiday period at the end of this month, as the country observes two consecutive public holidays. On Thursday, December 25, the nation will mark the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah alongside Christmas celebrations. Government offices and private institutions will remain closed nationwide.
Additional Holiday for Christian Community
The federal government has also designated Friday, December 26, as a holiday specifically for Pakistan’s Christian community. The extra day off allows for participation in religious and traditional activities, adding to the festive spirit.
Four-Day Weekend for Citizens
With the weekend falling immediately after these holidays, residents will effectively get a four-day break from work. The extended holiday period combines Thursday and Friday’s observances with Saturday and Sunday, offering a rare long weekend for relaxation and celebration.
Planned in Annual Public Holidays Calendar
The federal government had announced the annual 2025 public holidays calendar earlier this year. Both December 25’s nationwide holiday and December 26’s community-specific observance were pre-scheduled in accordance with that calendar, ensuring citizens could plan ahead for the year-end festivities.
