Chief of Army Staff and Commander of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman discussed matters of mutual interest, including the Makkah Defence Cooperation Agreement.

During the meeting between Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman in the Saudi capital Riyadh, the two sides appreciated the outcomes of the meeting of armed forces chiefs from countries included in the Makkah Defence Cooperation Agreement. They also discussed attacks targeting civilian and economic facilities in Makkah and Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi and Pakistani leadership reiterated their commitment to continuing cooperation under the Makkah Defence Cooperation Agreement to jointly counter such attacks.

Saudi Minister of State, Member of the Council of Ministers and National Security Adviser Dr Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Chief of the General Staff General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, and the Defense Minister’s Adviser for Intelligence Affairs Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif, among other senior officials, were also present at the meeting.

Makkah Defence Agreement to be translated into effective military cooperation: ISPR

A resolve has been made to translate the commitments and pledges of the Makkah Defence Agreement into effective military cooperation. A meeting of the Chiefs of Defence Forces and Chiefs of General Staff of the countries participating in the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement was held in Riyadh.

According to the Turkish Armed Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, Turkish Chief of General Staff General Selçuk and Saudi Chief of General Staff attended the meeting.

According to ISPR, the meeting reviewed the security situation and threats facing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The participants said the meeting reflected their commitment to strengthening the defense partnership.

According to ISPR, the participants condemned attacks on Makkah, civilian populations and economic installations. The participants appreciated the readiness and professional capabilities of the Saudi Armed Forces.

The meeting also praised the professional capabilities of the Saudi forces in ensuring the security of the Kingdom. The participants also discussed further promoting cooperation among the armed forces of the three countries.

The meeting also discussed ways to improve military coordination and the integration of defence capabilities. The participants appreciated the longstanding ties and mutual trust between the peoples and armed forces of the three countries.
