A fan of national Test team captain Babar Azam climbed over a fence to enter the ground and meet him, with a video of the incident going viral on social media.
According to private TV channel ARY News, Babar Azam is playing for OGDC in the President’s Trophy Grade-I at Abbottabad Stadium, where a large number of fans have gathered to catch a glimpse of him.
One such fan crossed the fence installed outside the boundary line and reached the ground to meet Babar, with a video of the incident going viral on social media.
The video shows the fan taking a selfie with Babar and then performing a prostration of gratitude before running out of the ground.
Although the fan managed to meet Babar Azam, security personnel detained him shortly afterwards.
A social media post claimed that Babar Azam immediately tried to help and sent a player to request his release, but security officials had already taken him away.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time a Babar fan has entered the ground to meet him. Similar incidents have also been witnessed during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in the past.
