Web Desk: The University of the Punjab announced official holidays for Eid al-Fitr 2026 and the upcoming spring break, according to a notification issued by the Registrar’s Office through its Academic Branch.

The university will remain completely closed from Friday, March 20, to Monday, March 23, 2026, in observance of Eid al-Fitr. During this period, all teaching and administrative departments, offices, institutes, centers, constituent colleges and schools will suspend routine operations.

The notification stated that no academic or administrative activities will take place while the holiday remains in effect.

Immediately after the Eid holidays, the university will observe spring break from Tuesday, March 24, to Friday, March 27, 2026. Teaching departments, institutes, centers, constituent colleges and schools will remain closed for academic activities during these dates.

However, the administration clarified that administrative staff across all teaching departments, institutes, centers, constituent colleges and schools will resume their duties from March 24, following the conclusion of Eid holidays. The measure aims to ensure that official matters and academic arrangements continue without disruption.

Academic activities will restart on Monday, March 30, 2026. As a result, students will receive an extended break, allowing them to celebrate Eid while also taking time for rest and academic preparation.

Registrar Dr. Ahmad Islam signed the notification. The university circulated copies to all deans, principals, directors, chairpersons, relevant officers and campuses to ensure compliance with the announced schedule.

University authorities advised students, faculty and staff to plan their academic engagements and travel arrangements in line with the notified dates. The administration added that academic activities will resume as scheduled after the holidays.
