Web desk: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has released the results of the Higher Secondary School Certificate Part-II Commerce (Regular) exams for 2025, with female students securing all three top positions.

Among the high achievers, Kanza Bint Sikandar of a private college stood first with 987 marks out of 1100.
She was followed by Abeera Kamal in second place with 974 marks, while Sana claimed third position with 968 marks.
Overall pass percentage 43.22 per cent
This year, 27,707 candidates appeared in the Commerce Regular exams.
Out of them, 11,974 managed to clear their papers, bringing the overall pass percentage to 43.22 per cent.
While the top performers shone brightly, the relatively low pass rate highlighted the difficulties many students continue to face.

Passing marks for the BIEK board exams in 2025
Passing marks have been increased from 33 per cent to 40 per cent.
For the 2025 BIEK (Board of Intermediate Education Karachi) exams and onwards, the passing marks have been raised to 40 per cent, up from the earlier 33 per cent.
The Inter Board Coordination Committee (IBCC) has also introduced a new grading system, which replaces absolute scores with alphabetical grades and grade points.
These will now be used to calculate a student’s GPA and CGPA.
