It is not possible to use a single phone number on 2 iPhones, but this is going to change very soon.
Apple has added a feature called iPhone Handoff to the iOS 27 operating system.
Through this feature, you will be able to use your phone number on 2 iPhones.
It should be noted that iOS 27 will be introduced by the company during a scheduled event on September 9 and will soon become available on various iPhone models.
The feature was briefly mentioned during Apple’s annual conference in June 2026, but details were not revealed.
Now, a report has provided information about this new feature.
According to the report, this new feature will have to be set up through Settings, which will be available in the Cellular menu.
During the setup process, you will have to select one iPhone as the primary device, while the second phone will be designated as the companion device.
According to Apple, the user’s primary eSIM will have to remain on the primary phone, while the companion iPhone will receive a companion eSIM.
This will allow the user to use the same number on both iPhones.
Both iPhones will need to have iOS 27, while support from the mobile network operator will also be required.
At present, two companies in the United States and the Netherlands will provide support for this feature.
