Following a major change in Apple’s leadership after 15 years, the technology company is set to introduce its new devices tomorrow, September 9.
Tim Cook, who had served as Apple’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the past 15 years, moved to the position of Executive Chairman on September 1, while John Ternus, who has long been associated with Apple’s hardware division, took over as the new CEO.
The September 9 event will be John Ternus’s first major Apple event as CEO. Tim Cook is expected to attend the event, but he is unlikely to appear on stage.
Analysts and Apple watchers will be focusing not only on the new products but also on what changes the company’s direction may undergo under its new leadership.
Expected Launch of New iPhones
Apple’s special event will be held on Wednesday, September 9, at 10 a.m. US time.
Three new iPhones are expected to be unveiled at the event: the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the company’s first foldable iPhone. According to reports, the foldable model may potentially be named the Ultra.
In addition, Apple is expected to introduce two new Apple Watch models and AirPods.
The launch of the standard iPhone 18 may reportedly be delayed until the second quarter of 2027, which would result in greater emphasis on the Pro models this time.
Possible Change in Pre-Order Date
Apple usually begins pre-orders for new iPhones on the Friday following its September launch event. However, this year that date falls on September 11, which could lead the company to change its usual schedule.
According to reports, pre-orders could begin on Saturday, September 12, instead of Friday, but Apple has not yet officially confirmed the pre-order date.
Expected to Hit the Market on September 18
According to Apple’s usual launch schedule, deliveries of the new iPhones to customers are expected to begin on Friday, September 18.
However, the launch timeline for the foldable iPhone remains uncertain. Due to reports of production difficulties, its pre-order and market availability dates could differ from those of the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. There are also reports that its launch could be delayed until late September or later.
Price
So far, there has been no final confirmation of the iPhone 18’s prices. However, the iPhone 18 Pro Max could be considerably more expensive than its predecessor.
According to analysts, rising memory component costs could increase the Pro Max’s price in the US by $200 to $300. Apple has also indicated that rising component costs could affect prices.
Based on current estimates, the starting price of the iPhone 18 Pro Max could be approximately $1,399 to $1,499, which is equivalent to approximately Rs390,000 to Rs418,000 in Pakistani currency.
Models with higher storage could cost between $1,999 and $2,099, equivalent to approximately Rs557,000 to Rs585,000.
All these prices are based on analysts’ estimates and have not been officially confirmed by Apple. The official US pricing is expected to be announced by Apple at the September 9 event.
