Afghanistan and Pakistan have decided to extend their ceasefire following a series of high-level diplomatic meetings held in Istanbul from October 25 to 30, 2025. The discussions facilitated by Türkiye and Qatar, were aimed at reinforcing the truce that was initially reached in Doha earlier this month.

“Further modalities of the implementation will be discussed and decided in a principal level meeting in Istanbul on 6 November 2025,” read a joint statement on the dialogue between Afghanistan and Pakistan through the facilitation of Turkiye and Qatar.

According to a joint statement issued by Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, all parties reassued their commitment to keeping peace and will discuss implementation details during a principal-level meeting in Istanbul on November 6, 2025.

“All parties have agreed to put in place a monitoring and verification mechanism that will ensure maintenance of peace and imposing penalty on the violating party,” the statement added.

Türkiye and Qatar, as mediators, commended the important role of both Afghanistan and Pakistan, showing readiness to keep supporting permanent peace and stability between the two countries.
