After revelations surfaced about an ongoing campaign by Afghan “Khawarij” Taliban’s official social media channels and propaganda network against martyred Maulana Idrees strong anger has been reported among religious and public circles.
According to sources, Maulana Idrees had been receiving threatening voice messages and communications from the Afghan Taliban for quite some time, in which he was pressured to withdraw from his stance and remain silent.
Close associates say that the martyred Maulana Idrees was known for speaking the truth, maintaining a strong religious position, and openly opposing extremist thinking, which is why he remained continuously targeted.
Reports indicate that an organized propaganda campaign was run against Maulana Idrees on various social media platforms linked to the Afghan Khawarij Taliban, where his character was defamed and provocative content was spread.
Sources further claim that even up to the time of his martyrdom, he continued to receive threatening messages, and a hostile campaign against him remained active on social media.
Religious and social circles have demanded a full investigation into the incident and strict action against those responsible, stating that targeting scholars and issuing threats based on differences of opinion is unacceptable.
