Actress Mominah Iqbal has escalated her dispute with religious scholar Nasir Madni by sending him a legal notice, demanding an explanation, public apology, and removal of allegedly defamatory content.
According to local media reports, the notice, issued through her lawyer Advocate Adnan Ahsan Khan, states that certain remarks made by Nasir Madni about Mominah Iqbal have damaged her reputation, dignity, and professional career. The notice argues that the statements amount to defamation and calls for their immediate retraction and a public apology.
The notice further warns that if the demands are not met within the specified period, the actress reserves the right to pursue further legal action to protect her rights.
This development comes as Mominah Iqbal has already been in the spotlight due to several legal disputes and harassment-related cases. In recent weeks, she approached the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) with allegations of cyber harassment, threats, and blackmail against Saqib Chadhar, after which a case was reportedly registered under the PECA Act.
Before issuing the legal notice, Mominah Iqbal strongly criticized Nasir Madni’s remarks through an Instagram story, saying that he had amplified allegations and accusations against her from the pulpit.
She stated that she would be vindicated in both worldly and divine courts, asserting that only she and Allah know the truth about the accusations made against her. She also declared that she would not forgive Nasir Madni.
In her post, the actress emphasized that Islam considers making accusations without evidence and damaging a person’s honor a serious sin. Referring to verses from Surah An-Nur, she said that everyone will be held accountable and that justice will ultimately prevail.
The controversy has sparked mixed reactions across entertainment and social media circles, with many now waiting to see how Nasir Madni responds to the legal notice.
