MUZAFFARABAD: The two-day Bunyanum Marsous HEC Intra-University Women’s Table Tennis Championship concluded successfully in Muzaffarabad. The event was organized through the joint efforts of the Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the Pakistan Army, and the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

Women athletes from 18 universities across the country took part in the championship. In an exciting final match, Kinnaird College Lahore defeated Punjab University to claim the title.

During the closing ceremony, participating athletes held a march past, waving the flags of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir alongside their university banners. Players showing exceptional performance were awarded medals, while the winner and runner-up teams received trophies.

The participants expressed their joy and national pride, saying that bringing together female students from universities across Pakistan in Muzaffarabad was a symbol of Kashmir’s solidarity with Pakistan.

One student remarked, “This event shows that Kashmir and Pakistan stand together as one.” Another said, “The secure environment provided here encouraged more girls to step into sports.”

The students also emphasized that such sporting events should be held more frequently to promote women’s participation and empowerment in athletics.
