Web Desk: Members of the United States House of Representatives Ryan Keith Zinke and Michael James met with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting covered matters of mutual interest, regional security, defence cooperation, and ways to enhance economic relations between Pakistan and the United States.
Focus on Economic Potential and Regional Stability
During the meeting, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir highlighted Pakistan’s significant economic potential, stating that sustainable regional stability depends on economic growth, promotion of trade, and strengthening regional connectivity.
He also referred to ongoing structural reforms in Pakistan aimed at creating a business-friendly environment and attracting foreign investment.
US Delegation Appreciates Pakistan’s Role
According to ISPR, the US delegation appreciated Pakistan’s important role in promoting regional stability and economic strength.Keeping in view the delegation members’ professional expertise and experience, both sides also discussed opportunities to expand bilateral economic cooperation, private-sector partnerships, and Pakistan-US trade relations.
Commitment to Strengthen Bilateral Relations
At the conclusion of the meeting, the US delegation thanked Pakistan’s military leadership for the warm hospitality and expressed commitment to further strengthening economic, trade, and institutional ties between Pakistan and the United States.It is worth mentioning that Ryan Keith Zinke represents the US state of Montana, while Michael James represents the US state of Washington in the House of Representatives.
