Web Desk: The Somali government has provided a formal written assurance to Pakistan promising full cooperation in the safe recovery of 10 Pakistani citizens kidnapped by Somali pirates.
Diplomatic sources confirmed that Somalia officially communicated its commitment to assist in the secure return of the hostages following high-level contact from Islamabad. Pakistan recently raised the matter of the abduction with Somali authorities, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.
The crisis began after Somali pirates hijacked the vessel Honour 25, taking more than 10 Pakistani crew members hostage. Several of the kidnapped individuals reportedly hail from Karachi. Since the vessel’s seizure, the crew has remained in captivity under the control of the pirates.
Transitioning from diplomatic efforts to the humanitarian impact, the families of the abducted sailors expressed deep distress over the safety of their loved ones. They have formally appealed to the Pakistani government to expedite rescue operations and provide immediate assistance.
