Pakistani security forces have arrested an armed individual who recently entered Pakistan from abroad during an operation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
According to security sources, the arrested suspect is a trained sniper who arrived in AJK from outside Pakistan in recent days. Security forces carried out a timely operation and took him into custody.
Initial reports said the suspect is being interrogated to determine the purpose of his arrival in Pakistan, his possible links, and other aspects of the case.
Meanwhile, following the successful conduct of elections in AJK, the banned Awami Action Committee allegedly turned to violence. According to police, members of the group attempted to march toward Rawalakot and opened fire after being stopped, injuring two police officers.
In a separate attack on a security checkpoint in the outskirts of Rawalakot, alleged members of the banned organization killed Rangers soldier Ali Raza, who embraced martyrdom while performing his duty.
