Pakistani celebrities praise Indian film haq

Haq is an Indian courtroom film that first released in cinemas in November 2025. It later arrived on Netflix on January 2, 2026. Soon after its digital release, the film gained strong attention worldwide, including in Pakistan.

Reshu Nath wrote the film, and Suparn Verma directed it. Yami Gautam Dhar plays Shazia Bano, while Emraan Hashmi stars as Advocate Mohammad Abbas Khan. The supporting cast includes Sheeba Chaddha, Vartika Singh and Danish Husain.

The film draws inspiration from the landmark 1985 Supreme Court case of Mohd. Ahmed Khan v. Shah Bano Begum. It tells a powerful legal and personal story about women’s rights and maintenance under religious and civil law.

Despite recent tensions between India and Pakistan, Haq has received wide praise in Pakistan. Viewers appreciated its strong story and bold message.

Pakistani celebrities also shared positive reactions. Many praised Yami Gautam’s emotional and convincing performance.

Actress Fazila Qazi, actor Yasir Hussain, Maryam Noor, Dr. Ijaz Waris, and others applauded the film. Yasir Hussain called it a beautiful movie, while Fazila Qazi highlighted Yami Gautam’s impactful acting. Maryam Noor appreciated how clearly and gracefully the film delivered its message.
