Pakistan cricket team’s white-ball bowling coach Ashley Noffke has resigned from his position.
According to sources, Ashley Noffke had informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of his decision to step down from his responsibilities.
Sources said that the 2026 Asian Games will be Ashley Noffke’s final series with the Pakistan team, after which he will leave his coaching role with the national side.
According to sources, Ashley Noffke has been appointed head coach of the Netherlands cricket team, where he will coach the side in white-ball cricket.
Ashley Noffke has signed a two-year contract with the Netherlands Cricket Board, while the Asian Games will be his final assignment with the Pakistan cricket team.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board has started searching for a bowling coach for the men’s team and has formally issued an advertisement for the position.
According to the PCB, interested candidates can submit their applications by October 8.
Abrar Ahmed Becomes No. 1 T20I Bowler
Abrar Ahmed is the fifth Pakistani bowler to reach the No. 1 position in the T20I bowling rankings.
Pakistan leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed has claimed the top position in the ICC T20I bowling rankings for the first time.
Afghanistan’s star spinner Rashid Khan dropped to second place by a margin of one rating point. He had held the top position for the past six months.
Abrar Ahmed is the fifth Pakistani bowler to become No. 1 in the T20I bowling rankings. Before him, Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Imad Wasim and Shahid Afridi had achieved this honour.
Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz is ranked eighth among bowlers, while Salman Mirza slipped one place to 19th.
England’s Jamie Overton made significant progress, climbing 47 places to reach a career-best sixth position.
Meanwhile, England captain Harry Brook achieved a career-best fourth position in the T20I batting rankings following a successful home series against Sri Lanka.
Jos Buttler scored 172 runs in the series and moved to fifth place, just one position behind Brook.
Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan remains in third position. No other Pakistani batter features in the top 20.
In the ODI rankings, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza climbed five places to reach 24th position.
