Web Desk: OnePlus is preparing a major upgrade for its Ace lineup. Recent leaks suggest the upcoming Ace 7 could feature a built-in cooling fan. This would be unusual for a mainstream smartphone.
A tipster on the Chinese platform Weibo claims the device may use Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. If true, the phone could rank among the most powerful Android devices at launch.
The leak also says OnePlus is testing an internal active cooling system. This marks a clear shift in design. So far, Ace series devices have relied on external cooling accessories instead of built-in fans.
The recently launched Ace 6 Ultra does not include internal cooling. Instead, it supports optional external cooling attachments for better gaming performance. As a result, adding a built-in fan would signal a stronger push toward sustained performance.
If OnePlus adopts this feature, the Ace 7 would become the first in the series with active internal cooling. This technology usually appears in dedicated gaming phones. Therefore, OnePlus may aim to compete more directly in that segment.
OnePlus has not confirmed these details. The specifications could still change as development continues. The Ace 7 series is still months away from launch. OnePlus introduced the Ace 6 in October last year. Based on that timeline, the new model could arrive later this year.
