Web Desk: A long-standing rift between Pakistani film star Resham and theater actress Deedar intensified this week as both celebrities engaged in a public exchange of allegations on social media.

The conflict reached a boiling point after Deedar labeled Resham a negative influence and accused her of ruining lives during a recent interview. Consequently, these remarks triggered a wave of discussions across showbiz circles, prompting fans and colleagues to take sides in the escalating dispute.

Seeking to de-escalate the situation, Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari intervened by urging both actresses to maintain professional decorum. Bukhari advised Deedar to issue an apology and refrain from using inappropriate language. Resham subsequently shared Bukhari’s message on her Instagram account, thanking the minister and describing her as a loyal friend.

However, Deedar explicitly rejected the suggestion of an apology in a follow-up statement. She asserted that no one could force her to apologize for her views. Furthermore, she claimed that individuals who now distance themselves from her once maintained close personal ties with her family.

“People who used to frequent my home and spend time with me now act as if they do not know me,” Deedar stated. She added that while some people currently view her as inferior, time would eventually reveal the truth to the public.

Meanwhile, the entertainment industry remains divided over the spat. While some veteran actors call for a private resolution, others argue that such public confrontations damage the reputation of the film and theater fraternity.

As of Thursday, Resham has not issued a direct rebuttal to Deedar’s latest claims. Nevertheless, social media engagement surrounding the feud continues to grow, ensuring that the controversy remains a primary focus of Pakistani entertainment news.
