ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Traffic Police has announced a special traffic management plan in connection with the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women, which will be held at the Jinnah Convention Centre on July 12 and 13.
According to the shared advisory, the traffic plan will remain in effect from 8:00am on July 11 until 12:00pm on July 13. During this period, several routes leading to Serena Chowk will face diversions in order to ensure smooth transition of traffic.
Motorists travelling from Suhrawardy Chowk towards Serena Chowk have been directed to use Embassy Road as an alternate route. Traffic from Constitution Avenue (France Turn) to Serena Chowk will also be diverted, while one-way traffic will be operated in the area.
Besides, commuters travelling from Aabpara via Srinagar Highway to Serena Chowk will be using 7th Avenue. Traffic from Kashmir Chowk towards Serena Chowk will also be diverted, with motorists advised to take 7th Avenue from Srinagar Highway.
Authorities have further warned that brief traffic disruptions may occur due to VIP movements during the arrival and departure of delegates, urging citizens to plan their journeys accordingly.
Authorities have also urged public to cooperate in this regard and to follow the given directions to avoid any inconvenience.
